          HISTORY

Walt Walters and his family were taken hostage shortly after the birth of his twin sons, Patrick and Richard. His wife was murdered by the kidnappers and a heartbroken Walt vowed to raise his sons as examples of goodness and strong defenders of democratic values. When war broke out in Europe, his two sons wanted to volunteer, but, as they were both 16 at the time, they were too young, so, unbeknownst to their father, they dressed up in costumes and fought the enemy in the US as Yank and Doodle, the Fighting Twins. In parallel, Doug Danville, aka Black Owl, enlisted in the army, temporarily putting his career as a crime-fighter on hold and handing the Owl's wings over to Walt Walters. Walt took on the role of Black Owl, fighting side by side with his sons. Sadly, Walt was forced to retire from the hero business after being severely wounded by a gunshot, leaving Yank and Doodle to their own adventures again. Walt became the team's chair guy, providing information and equipment.

          POWERS & WEAPONS

Walt Walters was a good fighter, but his strongest suit was in the scientific department. He was the one who largely turned Black Owl and his friends from mere street fighters into true superheroes, thanks to his brilliant inventions, such as the Silent Swooper and many others.
