          HISTORY

In the early 1940s, Johnny Tago (real name Juan Tago) was a Filipino immigrant who escaped Japanese persecution in the days before America's entry into World War II. He quickly found employment as a chauffeur and bodyguard for Daily Blade publisher Steve Saxon. When Steve Saxon became the White Mask, Tago also assisted his employer in his fight against crime. Interestingly, despite Tago's lack of a disguise, no one seemed to draw a direct connection between Saxon's chauffeur and the White Mask. He has served as a member of both the Secret Warriors and the Battle Squadron.
