          HISTORY

In the early 1940s, while working in his research laboratory, Professor John Dickering discovered an element that had 50 times the energy potential of hydrogen. He also found that when exposed to the substance, the cells in his body were energized, allowing him to perform incredible feats. Inspired by the exploits of other costumed heroes, Professor Dickering designed a costume and adopted the superhero identity of Comet Man to fight crime and help the underprivileged. His girlfriend, reporter Thelma Gordon, covered Comet Man's adventures, making him one of the most popular heroes of his day. Sadly, his career as a masked hero came to an end when he was killed while trying to save the life of his brother Robert. To honor his brother's heroic sacrifice, Bob Dickering became the second Comet Man.

          POWERS & WEAPONS

The element discovered by Professor Dickering gave him the ability to fly at incredible speeds, emit energy blasts, and also generate force shields. Dickering wore a visor that helped him direct and control the energy blasts he emitted from his eyes more precisely. The energy charge stored in his body had a set duration, which depended on the time of exposure to the element and how and how much he used his powers.
