Eunice "Sugar" Kane was the owner of a small candy store in the Lightning Lake shopping center. There she sold her famous "Saucer Sweets", named after Miss Kane's favorite hero, who was none other than Captain Saucer-Man. Eunice's business was threatened by Otto "Dandy" Kandie, a tycoon who wanted to take over the property by any means, legal or not. Van Crawford (who was secretly Captain Saucer-Man) had recently met Sugar and decided to help her keep her business (even if he had to use her heroic alter-ego to do so). After some adventures (during which Sugar Kane discovered Vance's secret identity) the couple managed to defeat the evil Mr. Kandie and together they founded the Kane-Crawford Candy Co. Their friendship turned into a courtship and not long after, the courtship bore fruit in marriage. Sugar and Vance were not only companions in life and love, she became also his inseparable companion in adventures, even being part (more as patrons than as active heroes, it must be said) of the Crime Busters and the Battle Squadron.
Sugar did not possess special powers, although she was a very determined and resourceful woman. For a brief period, she acquired powers similar to Vance's, calling herself Saucer-Woman.
