HISTORY
POWERS & WEAPONS
Professor Claude Stevens, a renowned ornithologist and engineer, was senselessly murdered. His son Drake was outraged and received no justice from the police. So Drake put together a costume consisting of a pair of Gravitex wings and some gadgets and went hunting for criminals. Drake married his girlfriend Ellen Page who donned her own pair of wings and became Airwoman. Airman was member of the Crime Busters and the Battle Squadron. His son (Ken Stevens) and his protege (Nathan Hale) became members of the Young Heroes.
Cosmium is a rare extra-terrestrial gravity-repelling metal which is reduced to a substance called Gravitex. Gravitex made Drake's wings lighter than air. He also used a gun in several adventures.
